Sean Hakes and Robert Zearing started Dads of Castle Rock (DoCR) in July 2019. The group started as a joke social group on Facebook in response to a group called Moms of Castle Rock. Within a month, DoCR had about 500 members.
Shortly after forming the Dads of Castle Rock group, Robert Zearing and his trusted partners launched Dads of Castle Rock Community Outreach, a 501(c)3.

DoCRCO is a philanthropic grassroots community of dads driven to serve, support and uplift the community we love. Through adult and life skills classes, grassroots initiatives like crisis and disaster response, sobriety and mental health programs or our annual benevolence-driven “Adopt A Family” initiative, along with participation in many community events like the Starlighting, Trunk or Treat and Douglas County Fair parade, we seek to be agents for positive change in every way we can.
